DENIAL

version two

Well, despite the pyramid of New York Times
you always kept beside your chair, I’ll bet it’s news that
Harry Houdini also died on October 31st .

He said anyone could hit him in the stomach as hard as they
could. However, two Canadian students sucker
punched him when he wasn’t ready.

The blows burst his appendix. The next night
while performing his famous routine  where he was locked
in a glass coffin filled with water, he couldn’t find the way out.

Suddenly, everyone could see he was done for. His wife Bess yelled
they should break the coffin, and they did, but it was too late
to save him. Shortly after, he died in the hospital.

The Houdinis believed the dead could communicate and had coded
a secret message, “Rosabelle, believe!” which the deceased
spouse was to send through a medium.

On the anniversary of his death, Bess Houdini held a séance
every year for ten years because of all the people likely to come back
she knew it would have to be Houdini.

In 1936 she gave up. She said if it were possible for him to reappear
she most certainly would have seen him by then.
So, what do you think about that?
